What a serious buyer should verify
What to include in a service scope
A clear service scope states inspection points, consumables, labor, testing, exclusions, emergency response terms and what happens if a failed component is not immediately available. For critical sites, define who can authorize emergency parts and how the site is supported during a prolonged repair.
After maintenance or major electrical work, verify automatic start, stable voltage/frequency, ATS behavior, alarm functions and a representative loaded run before returning the system to standby duty.
Operational checks that affect reliability
Reliability is strongly affected by conditions around the generator: battery condition, coolant and oil level, fuel quality, room temperature, airflow, exhaust backpressure, cable connections, earthing and the control/transfer sequence. A maintenance plan should cover the whole installed system rather than only the engine service interval.
Records are useful. Keep service dates, run hours, alarms, load-test results and replaced parts against the generator serial/model reference. This makes recurring faults easier to diagnose and gives the next technician a reliable history.

What should be checked at handover
Handover should verify leveling accuracy, door operation, emergency functions, interlocks, overload behavior, alarm/communication, power-failure response and the agreed maintenance documentation. For projects connected to standby generation, the lift operating sequence should also be coordinated with the building’s emergency-power design.
Brands and companies buyers research
Bangladesh buyers may encounter international lift brands such as OTIS, Mitsubishi, KONE, Hyundai, Sigma, Schindler, TK Elevator, FUJI, Xizi, Xinda. They may also compare local engineering and installation companies. A brand name does not replace shaft verification, approved drawings, installation quality, safety testing and maintenance capability.
